How GPS Detectors Function Better than Radar Detectors Do
How many decisions did you make today? Throughout every day of our lives, we make a myriad of choices. We decide whether to buy or sell stocks. We decide whether to purchase a house or keep renting an apartment. And we decide whether to have strawberry or maple syrup with our pancakes. If you own a car or truck, another key decision you’re likely to make is whether to purchase a basic machine for detecting police devices that emit radars, or one of the GPS variety—such as an escort 9500ix radar detector. Here are some ways in which GPS detectors function better than standard detectors of radars.
Call it what you want: a chess game, a cat-and-mouse game, or a war game. Traffic officers and motorists have been battling it out for several decades now. Motorists have the need for speed, and traffic officers have need to meet ticket quotas. This has resulted in an all-out contest of epic proportions: the police create new technologies to catch speeders, and then motorists use new technologies to catch the police trying to catch them. However, if you want to match the highway patrol’s technology, you should definitely consider GPS detectors instead. Why is that? Ultimately, the challenge between motorists and the highway patrol is one involving technology. For motorists, that basically means using the most up-to-date equipment available, to avoid tickets, fines, and skyrocketing insurance premiums.
On the other hand, GPS radars detectors can provide an array of benefits. When driving by the automatic doors of retail stores, they can determine that it’s a false alarm; those superstore doors aren’t monitoring your driving speed! Additionally, a GPS-based unit can warn you about regions where speed traps are common, toll booth cameras, and so on. Basically, these units will maximize your detection of genuine speed traps, and minimize the number of false alarms that you receive.
Of course, there’s that ancient saying that “You get what you pay for.” Are GPS detectors of radars worth the cost? Consider the opportunity cost. If you get a single speeding ticket, you’ll have to pay a fee to the police and a surcharge to your insurance company. Then there’s the boost in your car insurance premiums, which can be quite substantial—and particularly if you’re under 25-years-old. So in short, GPS detectors of radars are investments that pay for themselves.
