After you read it, even if you don't make a business plan, you should be able to better understand business, markets, marketing, budgets, taxes, and a lot of other business stuff that outsiders don't usually see or get. Then you can build on that by keeping an eye on all things business, watch TV shows on business or business leaders, read the business section in the paper and so on. You'll find you'll understand it all a lot better and more easily with just a little added knowledge.

It will also help you to plan what to take in college, as a good book will make you go through your strengths and weaknesses, then you can focus in on building up your weaknesses in college. So if you're not great at marketing you can take marketing courses, or accounting, or so forth.
