Questions & Answers about Cat Toys All
10Year Old Cat Toys?!?
I have a 10 Year Old cat and the reason why I dont give him toys to play with is because he is an outdoor/indoor cat. He is outside almost everyday. The only reason why he doesn't stay outside is because of food, water, and if it rains. Then he goes out in the backyard to explore again. I tried MAKING cat toys for him but he just ignored them.. Sometimes he even ran away. -_-
What kind of toy would you suggest to this kind of cat?
-About 10 Years Old
-Friendly
-Not that active (unless he goes outside!) ++ I want him to be active.
-Likes feathers..
-I think he is an American Short Hair. I am sure..
-He's all white.
I want a toy that will dangle from the air and I was thinking if he would jump for it or chase it etc. But I don't know if he will ignore it or not. I want to buy about three different kinds but not that expensive. I was thinking of searching in Petco or Petland Discounts.
So0o.. What would you suggest?
My 13 year old cat, also an indoor/outdoor cat, loves to play with either a toy fur mouse that I throw for him, or this stupid toy I made out of fishing line and a fake butterfly tied to a three foot stick. He'll play with that for hours...but he's always had a thing for butterflies. He also like this metallic christmas bow that i tied to a string...it was shiny, and rustled, and he loved to chase it and then beat it to death. as his favorite...it seems to be somewhat mangled at the moment and I have to make him a new one. The only bought toys he ever likes are the fur mice...and to make it even more fun for him, I store them in a container with some catnip in it, so when he plays with them he gets a buzz too. It really depends on what your cat is into...but don't go spending too much money...they really would just rather play with you!
Cat repellent I use seems to.. Have catnip?! O.O?
My cat is often playing around the toys of the children, to avoid that we bought cat repellent which we sprayed all around and on... But now the cat is even more attracted to the toys, and acts as if there was catnip on it! He was born the 25th of january (2009) and so is soon 3 months
For bellow answer: I tried some fruits (Including the one you stated) but he tried to eat them on the contrary! He eats anything if we dont avoid it in time, The other day we were eating sushi when we were surprised.. He likes wasabi!
Hi there... a handful of some of the cat repellents sometimes can be ineffective especially for young kittens who have yet to develop the olfactory senses.
Some children friendly products you could use to discourage the cat from taking interest are citrus scents. Many cats dislike orange, apple, even banana scents. Another commonly used deterrent is vinegar, however this probably wouldn't also discourage the kids since it isn't pleasant in general.
Diversion is a technique trainers use to reward cats for redirecting what pet families wish for their pets. Offering paper bags, cardboard boxes - changing them frequently to keep the experience new and interesting - are some of the things you could do to entice the kitten to play with. Adding unique and interesting cat toys inside the box/bag also strengthens the interest.
